The Gundam Base Minneapolis Opens September 30th
Gunpla fans in the American Midwest will soon have a new destination. Bandai Namco has confirmed that The Gundam Base Minneapolis will officially open on September 30, 2026, inside the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota.
Located at 102 East Broadway, the new store will become the second official Gundam Base location in the US. It follows The Gundam Base Chicago, which opened in December 2025.
The Gundam Base Minneapolis will offer a wide selection of Gunpla, including exclusive and limited edition model kits that can be difficult to obtain through standard retailers.
Visitors will also find modeling tools, accessories and other Gundam merchandise. Dedicated displays and exhibits will showcase the history and expanding world of Gundam and Gunpla. Opening inside the Mall of America places the store within one of the country’s largest shopping and entertainment destinations, potentially introducing Gunpla to customers beyond the franchise’s established fanbase.
The Minneapolis opening represents another major step in Bandai Namco’s expansion of official Gundam retail operations across the United States.
Until recently, many American builders could experience a Gundam Base only through temporary pop-up stores, conventions or international travel. Permanent locations provide more consistent access to exclusive products and give fans a dedicated place to gather around the hobby.
