Gundam Rogue Orbit Launches March 5 With an Exclusive Gundam Helix Gunpla
Bandai Namco has announced that GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT will launch on March 5, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam. Preorders are now available alongside a new trailer revealing more of the game’s characters, story and mobile suit customization.
Set within a completely new Gundam timeline, Rogue Orbit follows ace pilot RE-X and Vii, an intelligent Haro created to support the Gundam Helix. Together, they join humanity’s battle against the Apocalypse, an unknown threat appearing throughout the solar system.
The new trailer introduces several characters RE-X will encounter. Sofia is a mysterious young woman monitoring his movements, while April commands the Stellarvane, an independent special duty vessel fighting the Apocalypse. Other characters include Big Paul, a sand pirate leader who steals supplies for settlers, and Elaine, a knight commander and experienced mobile suit pilot.
It also offers another look at a mysterious black mobile suit with glowing red eyes, although Bandai has not revealed its identity or connection to the Gundam Helix.
Combat emphasizes high speed movement and powerful close range attacks across large environments on the ground and in space.
Players can customize their machine using different weapons, frames, thrusters and color schemes. Parts known as Apocalypse Units, or AP-Us, can also be equipped, suggesting that technology recovered from the enemy will become an important part of the game’s progression.
Individual weapons provide different actions and skills, allowing players to build their mobile suit around a preferred fighting style rather than relying on one fixed Gundam Helix loadout.
Four versions of Gundam Rogue Orbit have been announced: Standard, Launch, Deluxe and Collector’s Editions.
The $59.99 physical Launch Edition includes reversible cover artwork, an 11-by-17-inch poster and a Gundam Card Game promotional card featuring Sofia.
The $159.99 Collector’s Edition adds the Digital Deluxe content, a steel case featuring a Gundam Helix blueprint, five promotional cards and an exclusive HG 1/144 ARK-10 Gundam Helix Earth Blue Ver.
Bandai says this approximately 15-centimeter Gunpla will only be available as part of the game bundle\. Preordering any edition also provides early access to the Earth Blue color scheme for the in-game Gundam Helix.
With a firm release date, extensive customization and a Collector’s Edition combining gaming, Gunpla and the Gundam Card Game, Gundam Rogue Orbit is shaping up to be one of the franchise’s largest multimedia releases of 2027.
