MGEX Mighty Strike Freedom Leads Three Major New Gunpla Reveals
Bandai has unveiled its third MGEX release alongside HG models of Gundam ZERO and Gundam Helix, the headline machines from an interconnected anime and game project arriving in 2027.
Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom will become the third standard entry in the premium MGEX line.
Its “Extreme Point” the engineering theme used to distinguish each MGEX release is light and color expression. Bandai describes the kit as pursuing the highest level of radiant color expression in Gunpla history, although the company has not yet explained exactly how that effect will be achieved.
Only an unpainted development prototype appeared during the reveal. A fully colored molded sample is scheduled to make its public debut at the 64th All Japan Model & Hobby Show, beginning October 2, 2026. The MGEX Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam is scheduled for release in March 2027, priced at ¥26,400, including Japanese tax.
