Bandai Announces a Final Unicorn Gundam Kit as the Life-Size Statue Says Goodbye

After nearly nine years standing over Odaiba, the life-size RX-0 Unicorn Gundam is reaching the end of its run and Bandai is giving fans another way to remember it.

Bandai has announced a commemorative Mega Size Model 1/48 Gundam Base Limited RX-0 Unicorn Gundam Ver. TWC FINAL, created to mark the conclusion of the life-size Unicorn Gundam statue’s exhibition at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza.

The real Unicorn Gundam has stood outside DiverCity since 2017, becoming one of the most recognizable Gundam attractions in the world. Its public exhibition officially concludes on August 31, 2026, following a special Final Ceremony celebrating the statue and its history.

The new Gunpla is based on the Ver. TWC, or Tokyo Waterfront City, interpretation of the Unicorn Gundam. At 1/48 scale, the Mega Size line also makes for a fitting tribute to a machine famous for its enormous real-world counterpart. Bandai’s existing Mega Size Unicorn stands approximately 45 cm tall, making it considerably larger than the typical HG, RG, or MG Gunpla.
