Gundam Double X Is Joining Gundam Battle Operation 2

After War Gundam X fans are getting another reason to celebrate the series’ 30th anniversary. Gundam Double X is officially joining Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2.

Bandai Namco confirmed the Double X as the newest Mobile Suit coming to GBO2, with its related Supply Drop events beginning August 26 PDT / August 27 CEST. Even more notably, the Double X will be a 700-cost Support unit and the first Support-type Mobile Suit in GBO2 originating from one of the Alternative series.

As you would probably expect, the star of the Double X’s arsenal is its legendary Twin Satellite Cannon.

In GBO2, the Twin Satellite Cannon fires a powerful beam capable of partially ignoring an enemy’s beam resistance, penetrating shields and passing through Mobile Suits. The weapon requires charging, and the Double X cannot move or turn while charging it. However, its stored charge can generally be maintained if charging is interrupted, giving players some flexibility when preparing the weapon.

Its equipment includes the Buster Rifle, Hyper Beam Sword, G-Hammer, Beam Javelin, and Twin Satellite Cannons, giving the machine options at close, medium, and long range. Bandai Namco describes it as a versatile Support unit whose effectiveness will depend heavily on choosing the right weapon for each situation.

Tiffa Adill is also being added to GBO2 as a VR Operator through a special Token Pack. When using the Double X, Tiffa will even provide a unique voice line when the Twin Satellite Cannon has finished charging.

Between the Double X entering GBO2 and the recently announced After War Gundam X FLASH manga, Gundam X fans are eating pretty good in 2026.
