After War Gundam X Is Getting a New Sequel Manga

A new manga titled After War Gundam X FLASH has officially been announced and will begin serialization in the October 2026 issue of Monthly Gundam Ace, which goes on sale in Japan on August 26, 2026. More specifically, the new manga continues from the 2018 manga After War Gundam X NEXT PROLOGUE: “If I’m With You”, which followed Garrod and Tiffa on another journey after the events of the television series.

2026 marks the 30th anniversary of After War Gundam X, which originally began airing in April 1996. Bandai Namco Filmworks has been celebrating the anniversary with new merchandise, artwork, publications, and now an entirely new manga continuation. For a Gundam series that hasn’t received nearly as much attention as some of the franchise’s other timelines, getting a brand-new continuation three decades later is a pretty big deal.

Koichi Tokita who previously worked on the Gundam X manga adaptation during the original anime’s run and later created NEXT PROLOGUE. Now, he is returning once again to continue Garrod and Tiffa’s story.

Tokita explained that while FLASH will contain new elements, he wants to preserve the feelings and qualities that have always made Gundam X special. Several preview pages from the first chapter have already been revealed ahead of its release.
